I have an appletalk network with Macs and Laserwriters connected by a Shiva FP 4 to an ethernet segment that has a SUN 4/330. I've already gotten the FP4 and the Macs working so that NCSA Telnet runs on the Macs with no problems. I now am trying to make the SUN part of the appletalk net with CAP. So far I've figured out that the K-Star code that comes with the FP4 is supposed to be equivalent to KIP. I've compiled RU-CAP2 and loaded both AARPD and ATIS. However, ATLOOK doesn't show any IPGATEWAY. I suspect I've got something setup incorrectly in either the FP4, the /etc/atalk.local file, or both. I've setup both the FP4 and CAP to use the new NIC well-known service port numbers. I don't change any of the defaults for Atalk phase 1 or 2 in the FP4. In K-Star IP, I've entered the IP addresses of the FP4 and the local nameserver, and the number of static Mac clients. I've tried using both 'traditional CAP' and the ethertalk format of /etc/atalk.local and gotten nowhere. What is it that I'm overlooking? Could someone provide me with an example setup for both the FP4 and /etc/atalk.local for a network that has only one appletalk net and one zone (default zone)? Thanks in advance!
