We seem to have a problem with our Ethertalk and IPtalk configuration. We have two Localtalk segments, each of which is joined to the main site Ethernet via a Kinetic Fastpath. The Macs on the localtalk segments use NCSA Telnet for terminal sessions and use an AUFS file server running on a Sun 4/280. Recently a Mac was installed directly onto the Ethernet using an Etherlink NB card. We installed it with the Ethertalk 2.0 driver and it was able to open Telnet sessions and use the Aufs service with no problems. While this Mac was using Ethertalk 2.0 the other Macs using the Fastpath were unable to use NCSA Telnet. They could still use the AUFS file service though. When the directly-connected Mac was using the Ethertalk 1.2 driver it could use Telnet but not AUFS, and the Localtalk Macs were able to use NCSA Telnet as normal. Has anybody else had a similar problem before? Does anyone know the cause or a solution?
