We are currently running on our Ethernet both Phase 1 and a non-extended Phase 2 AppleTalk, plus several parallel transition bridges. If we start to use a real extended Phase 2 Ethertalk then the transition bridge won't work, and I see no bridging possibility yet. Aha, I thought. Let us run several non-extended Phase 2 networks (divided into areas) and run transition bridges for each non-extended network to make it able to see and be seen by the original Phase 1 network. I thought that then the different non-extended networks could then see each other, albeit across two transition bridges. Great idea! Now, why does it not work? I cannot seem to get a second different transition bridge (Apple or Kinetics) to work once one is working for one particular Phase 2 network! Ideas?
