I posted a message regarding an error I was receiving from the Dumper INIT that is part of the macdump suite. Thank you for so many replies and suggestions. The error is a "heap out of memory" or some such error, but the solution was quite simple. It appears that the Boomerang INIT cannot be loaded before the Dumper INIT. By renaming Boomerang to load after Dumper, the error went away and everything works fine. I did not need to remove any other INIT to free up heap memory. I am embarassed to admit that I did not try this very simple test before posting to the net. A second question about Dumper/macdump. Has anyone tried Dumper/macdump under Mac OS System 7? The Dumper INIT was written in 1988 and the code has not been released or updated since then. Will our current backup scheme stop working when we move to System 7 of the Mac OS. Thanks again for the help and information. Michael Kahn (kahn@informatics.WUSTL.EDU)
