I'm working for a company that bought 50 MacIIs and SEs from a VAR that strung everything together with PhoneNet, trained a part-time network manager, and went out of business. Most of this happened before I arrived, but it looks to me like both the network and our budget are overextended. We have flaky problems with files "losing" their contents, which are replaced by text from another file. (This has continued through a couple of replacement server hard drives.) What is the currently recommended maximum length of wiring and number of devices for a PhoneNet based network? (one bridge, two servers with two zones each, NO star controllers). Any recommendations for consultants in south-eastern Connecticut? Bob Stepno Essex P.S. Apologies if this isn't really appropriate to this newsgroup. I haven't seen one that seemed _better_ suited.
