[comp.protocols.appletalk] What to use

robert@cm.deakin.oz.au (Robert Ruge) (04/03/91)

I have been running CAP5.0 quite satisfactorily for some time now with
the following network configuration:

	+------------+
	| Webster    |
	| Multiport  |
	| Gateway    |
	+------------+
	       |		University Back Bone Ethernet
    +====================================================================+
	       |
	+------------+
	| PCroute    |		Department Ethernet
	| IP only    |-+=================================================+
	| Gateway    |			|
	+------------+		+--------------+
				| Solbourne    |
				| aufs & lwsrv |
				| Server       |
				+--------------+

with all the Mac's running localtalk from the Webster box and CAP
running on the Solbourne. Now I want to install CAP6.0 but I would
also like to add some Mac's to the deparmental ethernet and provide
them the same services as the localtalk Mac's. I have read all the FM's
but can not decide on what I should be running on the Solbourne. Should
I be running CAP with ethertalk (enet) installed or do I have to run
UAB? Note that the gateway is IP only. Is this kind of setup possible?
Thanks for any info.
