Does anyone know of an application that will let you monitor a Mac on ethernet by its ethernet address (preferably shareware)?? Our networks is mixed with PCs and Macs, when we are using programs on the PC side to monitor the network we can identify certain address' that are sending bad packets. We know these are Macs and need a program on the Mac side that would allow us to see the name of the user of that Mac and the address that is deemed bad. Thanks for any help! -- Timothy A. Thanks to thos who responded to my initial request for a program to monitor an ethernet address. The suggestion were good; however, not exactly it. My first description of what I need was a bit vague, so I will try again. I would like a program that will look across the AppleTalk network, identify a zone that is ethernet based and then tell me the PHYSICAL address of all Macs in that zone. I would also like that ability to type in a specific PHYSICAL address on the ethernet and then monitor that activity at that node (ie. whether that packets being sent to and from that node are good or bad). Is there a program that will do this?? I have seen products that were capable of this on IBMs. Thanks for any help! -- Timothy A.
