[comp.protocols.appletalk] Problems getting CAP lwserv to work

sci213v@monu6.cc.monash.edu.au (mr p freeman) (04/08/91)

I have installed CAP6.0 on a Sparc2 running SunOS4.1.1. I am using the native
ethertalk configuration (not using enet in the kernel though).

Aufs works fine as does atlook, etc. However, I am having trouble getting
papif and lwserv to work properly. Both these will find the Appletalk
Laserwiter IINT OK but they will only print the banner page, not the actual
document. Looking at the log file for papif shows that it encounters an
offending command when it reads the first line of the document I want to
print. I presume this is because in fact the document has not been converted
to Postcript

I can understand this when I use lpr from Unix because I need a test->postscript
filter but I didn't think this would occur when printing from a Mac using
lwserv service on the Sparc2.

Why is this occurring? Also, is there a public domain test->postscript filter
for Unix that I can use for lpr?

Is the font list in the file LWPlusFonts OK to use with a LaserWriter IINT?

Hope someone can help.
