Help . . . I am new to Mac networking and have a problem. I need to get a Sun SparcStation 2 and a Mac IIci (or fx) to talk. The Sun will be collecting data and doing initial number crunching in a lab, and the Mac will be used to format and print the data in an office. The Mac needs to be able to read data files from the Sun, and they both need to be able to use a LaserWriter connected to the Mac. One solution that I have been told will work is to use a Gatorbox with NFS. There are two problems with this, (1) we would like to have the Mac on Ethernet since both of these machines will have access to a 10BaseT building network, and (2) a Gatorbox with NFS is fairly expensive. I have read postings about a PD application called CAP that seem to indicate that it might do what we need. Can anyone verify this, and has anyone gotten it to work on a Sun SparkStation 2? Does anyone have any general or specific comments or suggestions? Please E-Mail directly, if possible ("brentk@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu"). Thanks in advance!
