I have a problem with MacTCP and NCSA Telnet. There seems to be hard coded into MacTCP a timeout of 5 seconds for connect time ... I can connect within Aust because response times are less than 5 secs but US connections generally exceed 5 secs (found by pinging from another computer) so that Telnet comes back and says that the host is not responding. AdminTCP does allow you to change the response time timeout ... Has Apple been stupid enough to hard code in a 5 sec timeout into MacTCP or am I just being brain dead.
