I'm trying to get a Appleshare serving going with about 10 people, half using SE/30s and half plain old SEs. On two of the SEs when the server is mounted, but not being accessed or even open, the SEs will get the appletalk symbol in the upper left hand corner (two arrows) and hang for a full minute or two. To me it looks like its trying to update the desktop or something on the server whenever you do some disk access on your local hard drive. I don't know of any reason why it should work like this, but it makes the server unusable for those people. Has anyone else seen this before? We also have a Gatorbox and a Shiva bridge on the same network, if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated. Andrew Kessler kessler@boulder.colorado.edu
