Every so often, I crash my Mac. If I have an Aufs volume mounted, all of the protections get reset. Setup: CAP 5.0 on a Sun Sparc, v.4.1.1, Gatorbox, Aufs running. Here's the problem: I have 2 disks for mounting on my system, one for myself and one for public use. Each is a separate directory in my home directory on the Sparc, one called MacFiles, the other called PublicMacFiles. There is a .resource and .finderinfo in my home directory as well as in each of the other directories. I have a file called .afpvols and one called .pubafpvols in my home directory: .afpvols: /home/CS/morgan/MacFiles:Pete's Disk .pubafpvols: /home/CS/morgan/resnick/PublicMacFiles:CogSci Disk Here is the line from start-cap-servers: /usr/local/lib/cap/aufs -G nobody \ -l /usr/local/lib/cap/aufslog \ -n "CogSci/AI Aufs" \ -V /home/CS/morgan/resnick/.pubafpvols I own all of the files, and the permissions are set 700 for everything in MacFiles and 755 for everything in PublicMacFiles. If my Mac crashes while I have both disks mounted, I end up with all of the files in PublicMacFiles being set to 700 (hence, Owner see folders, see files, and make changes, but no other permissions). This is very bad. Is this a bug that was fixed in 6.0 (which I haven't had time to deal with yet), or is there another solution I am missing? pr -- Pete Resnick (...so what is a mojo, and why would one be rising?)
