I recently got a demo copy of Intercon's NFS/Share from its Dutch distributor. I have been able to mount volumes from a.o. a Convex and a Tektronix Workstation, but it won't mount a volume from a DecStation 3100 (which is what we wanted to do in the first place). According to the accompanying NFS/Test utility, the DecStation is doing all the right things (NIS, lockd and NFS). NFS/Share will let me log in on the Dec, but won't mount exported volumes (yes my Mac's name is in the /etc/exports file). The error message is: The volume could not be mounted Anyone have a solution? It seems to work OK with our 3100s (running Ultrix 4.1 rev 52). One thing to try is to make sure that the DECstation thinks that the Mac is allowed to mount the volume (i.e., check the /etc/exports and /etc/hosts.equiv files). Also, you probably want to run pcnfsd or bwnfsd for authentication and file locking. NIS can get weird if it's not set up exactly right. -- Amanda Walker amanda@visix.com Visix Software Inc. ...!uunet!visix!amanda -- /visix/user/amanda/bin/MIPS/fortune: syntax error at line 1: `(' unexpected
