I wrote an article a while back in Dave Kosiur's connections magazine
discussing how to exceed the 254 node limit on Phase One EtherTalk. The jist
of the article is; configure one of your ethernet brouters to filter all
AppleTalk Phase One Packets and Phase One AARPs. Then, configure one side of
the brouter to be EtherTalk Network #a and the other side to be EtherTalk
Network #b. In my example, I connected the two nets together with back to
back FastPaths. No days I would recommend that you use AIR (Apple Internet
Router) and two NuBus Ethernet cards in a Mac2. Connect on ethernet to net#a
and the other to net#b. This will get you past the 254 node limit and all
you'll need to do is dedicate a Mac2 to the routing. Once you completely
convert to Phase 2 you can put the Mac2 on someone's desk.
