Surprised this hasn't cropped up before, unless I missed something...
We wish to run a heterogenous network of Macs, some staying with System 6,
some running 7, and all sharing Appletalk & Sun-connected Laserwriters. We
currently run CAP5 (with approrpiate patches).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I can make the appletalk side happy, by ensuring the System 6 users
use the new Laserwriter driver 6.1 (and associated bits); then users of
both Systems are happy, with no constant printer re-initialisation
-- how can I get harmonised working to the CAP lwsrv side? (Which currently
doesn't print anything when supplied with something from a System 7 user.)
Is there no way that the CAP5 lwsrv can be upgraded to use the Laserwriter
6.1 driver, rather than 5.2?
Does upgrading to CAP6 mean we could have both System 6 and System 7
printing to the same lwsrv service? Will this happen in the future?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for any help, guys!
