First of all a big THANKS to those who replied to my last question about FTP'ing. Well, it turns out that the problem wasn't with the Mac at all. The problem turned out to be another machine that was putting out RIP broadcasts and therefore misdirecting MacTCP. The Mac would go to the Apollo when looking for networks outside the school, and the Apollo wouldn't respond. Now my next question...we don't use RIP here at the school [or at least that's our policy :-)], but that doesn't stop some people from broadcasting the stuff anyways. Is there any way to suppress RIP in MacTCP so that it ignores these redirects? This way we can be guarenteed that we won't have any problems like this in the future. Merci d'avance...Furry Bill ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +Send all replies, advice, love letters to lafleur@sicun.epfl.ch. + + *** Look Mom!
