We have a large bridged network with mostly Novell IPX and AppleTalk Phase II. Starting last Friday, we have been seeing intermittant RTMP storms that take the entire network down. We have not been able to track down the problem as of yet, but now have a Lanalyzer, Lantern, and Netwatch running. Any thoughts as to what could instigate the storm would be greatly appreciated. We will be going to a routed network soon, so I should be able to control the problem by only listening to routing updates from known entities, but in the meantime, I need to solve this problem.
