I modified CAP 6.0 and UAB to run different host/node, it seems to me working OK. Then I found out that I can't add many CAP server, but if I remove one from list then new one show up on the list, looks like it was waiting empty slot. I think this number of entry controlled by MAXOPENPORT = 10 in port_intf.h file. I started second UAB on another SUN workstation then everything show up by atlook. Is there any reson to seted MAXOPENPORT = 10 ? Does UAB support PHASE 2 protocol? (I see phase 2 code in UAB, but when I choose UAB, Configure does not ask phase 2 option.) When I tested my modification of CAP and UAB, I will post this news group. Right now, our site, Polytechnic University, using CAP 6.0 as followed: ----------------- Local Talk | MAC IIsi | --------- MAC ---- MAC --- LaserWriter ... | (Liaison router)| ----------------- + + Ether-Net (EtherTalk) + ++++++ MAC + ++++++ Sun 3 host with QMS PS-810 PostScript printer + ++++++ Sun 3 'pucatt' (CAP 6.0, UAB/ node 24) + ++++++ Sun 3 'puscs' (UAB only/ node 205) + ++++++ IBM RS-6000 'thumper' (CAP 6.0/ use UAB node 205 as gateway) + This is output from atlook: pucatt% atlook abInit: [ddp: 1.00, 24] starting Looking for =:=@* ... 1 - pucatt Aufs:AFPServer@* [Net: 1.0 Node: 24 Skt:131] 2 - thumper Aufs:AFPServer@* [Net: 1.0 Node:205 Skt:132] 3 - CAP LWD v7 QMS PS-810:LaserWriter@* [Net: 1.0 Node: 24 Skt:134] 4 - Hockney CAP LWD v7:LaserWriter@* [Net: 1.0 Node:205 Skt:129] 5 - 4071161:Liaison\252@* [Net: 1.0 Node: 43 Skt: 76] 6 - <Unnamed>:Macintosh IIci@* [Net: 1.0 Node: 28 Skt:253] 7 - Stack Machine:Public Folder\240@* [Net: 1.0 Node: 43 Skt:253] 8 - 577-990-4139:Retro A/C@* [Net: 1.0 Node: 43 Skt:251] 9 - stack machine:Retrospect Remote@* [Net: 1.0 Node: 43 Skt:251] pucatt% id ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Rocky Shiotsuki Internet: rocky@puscs.poly.edu Systems Programmer 128.238.5.8 Polytechnic University 333 Jay Street, Brooklyn, New York 11201
