JOB OPENINGS AT LOS ALAMOS NATIONAL LABORATORY The Network Engineering group at Los Alamos has several openings in the areas of computer security, computer networking software development, and VAX/VMS system support. Individuals in these positions would work with a group of hardware and software engineers in the further design and development of the Los Alamos Integrated Computing Network (ICN). This network ties together a broad range of computers from IBM PCs and Sun workstations to CDC 7600s and Cray-1s. Gateways to ARPAnet, Telenet, and other public and private networks provide the ICN user with communication to computers throughout the world. Major new development is planed in the areas of gateways, LANs, and protocol development. Applicants should have extensive professional level experience in in computer networking or operating system. Detailed knowledge of network architecture concepts and protocols is required. Previous technical experience with TCP/IP and local area networks is highly desirable. A B.S. in computer science or equivalent education and experience will meet minimum educational requirements. A DOE security clearance will be required.
