             National Semiconductor Corp.

We are developing demand-paged UNIX systems based on Berkeley 4.2bsd
for National's NS16032 and NS32032 microprocessors.  We are also
working with Bell Labs to define a version of SYSTEM V, ..., etc.
for NS16032 and NS32032.

We have immediate openings in the following areas.

Sr. Software Engineers: Compiler Development

Responsibilities include developing compiler code optimizer for C,
Pascal, Fortran, ... etc.  Two to five years of compiler development
experience with knowledge of C, Pascal, Fortran, and UNIX is desired.

Sr. Software Engineers: Language Tools Development
 
Responsibilities include developing assembler, linker, or debugger.
Two to five years language tools development experience with
knowledge of C, Pascal, Fortran, and UNIX is desired.

Sr. Software Engineers: UNIX System Architect

Responsibilities include defining future UNIX systems for NS16032 and
NS32032.  Two to five years experience in UNIX kernel and system
development is desired.
 
Sr. Software Engineers: UNIX Kernel Development

Responsibilities include porting Berkeley 4.2bsd to NS16032 and NS32032
based microcomputer systems (including, but not limited to, a popular PC
configuration with NS16032 and NS32032 add-on board).  Two to five years
experience in UNIX kernel development is desired.  Working experience on
PC-DOS is a plus.

Sr. Software Engineers: Networking

Responsibilities include developing/porting networking software under
Berkeley 4.2bsd on NS16032 and NS32032 based microcomputer systems.
Two to five years experience in networking protocol design and development
is desired.
