I've been looking at DTP programs that run on SUNS (and others) for some time, and am very impressed by FRAMEMAKER. Some other folks here at SRI have suggested Interleaf, but I've mostly ignored them because Interleaf's high end system (needed to do any serious DTP work) cost $15k. However, those of you who are also looking at such systems and who work at universities or other non-profit corporations may be interested to know that Interleaf has just introduced their University Publication System, which is the high end package minus typesetter and scanner drivers, and which costs only $1k. This is all I know about it at the moment (from a phone conversation with one of their reps); I've requested more info. Another tidbit the rep dropped was that they plan to have an Interleaf PC system out in a few months that will allow simple display and editing of Interleaf files on IBM/compatible PCs, with complete transferability to and from the SUN version. If you want more info on these systems, I suggest you give Interleaf a call.
