I would be interested in knowing if anyone has some software to take some MacIntosh files in either Macwrite format or MS word format into an equivalent troff document with the appropriate macros? I think this will be a tough one, because both MacWrite and MS word have micky mouse internal file formats, and someone will need access to info on those file formats, and then write some programs to extract the relevant information. They are not ascii files. I know the MacWrite format was documented in a Macintosh technical note, which you can get from Apple Developer Services. (If you don't have any luck, I have a hardcopy floating around somewhere.) I don't know about MS word. I'm actually trying to track down the same info right now in order to go the other way. If I find anything, and there's sufficient interest, I'll post any results. Please let me know what you find. -- Tim O'Reilly (617) 527-4210 O'Reilly & Associates, Inc., Publishers of Nutshell Handbooks 981 Chestnut Street, Newton, MA 02164 UUCP: uunet!ora!tim ARPA: tim@ora.uu.net ---------------------------------------- Submissions to: desktop%plaid@sun.com -OR- sun!plaid!desktop Administrivia to: desktop-request%plaid@sun.com -OR- sun!plaid!desktop-request Paths: {ihnp4,decwrl,hplabs,seismo,ucbvax}!sun Chuq Von Rospach chuq@sun.COM Delphi: CHUQ We live and learn, but not the wiser grow -- John Pomfret (1667-1703)
