I am in the process of making some decisions about some
desktop publishing software for the MAC. I have gotten the
impression that Ready, Set, Go4 and Pagemaker are the two top
packages. I was wondering if someone could point me to reviews
of these two packages (head-to-head comparisons would be ideal,
but not necessary) in the trade mags which cover such points as
strong and weak points of the two packages, which external software
do they support (eg. can they incorporate Adobe Illustrator graphics?),
which external devices can be used (digitizing tablets, scanners, etc).
If you have personal opinions based on hands-on practical experience,
I would also like to hear those.
Thanks in advance,

[Editorial Kibbitz: My copy of RSG4.0 is due in tomorrow (after a six week
delay because they lost the paperwork. sigh. IF it really does what the
preliminary information I have says it does, I think RSG4 will probably
blow Pagemaker out of the water.
A major difference in design style between the two is that PageMaker is
heavily oriented towards shorter works, and trying to put together long
publications in it is a bit of a pain. RSG is much better at longer
pieces. It also now have full style sheets, which makes doing longer and
continuing publications much easier. I'm a BIG fan of RSG3, which I use
for lots of things. RSG4 looks like a quantum leap beyond. Once I have time
to play with it, I'll post a full review.]
