Tymshare recently ran the following ad in the "San Jose Mercury". We are running Berkeley 4.2 on our VAX 750, and will be developing 68000-based UNIX 'programmer workbench' systems in the near future. We are especially looking for programmers who have an interest in compilers and debuggers to develop an integrated set of language tools for C, Concurrent Pascal, and macro-assembler, with a symbolic debugger. These tools will be integrated with our Network environment and will generate code to run in our own Tymnet Engine, a powerful communications mini-computer. Communications Systems Programmers Here is your chance to participate in the design and implementa- tion of network architectures, high-speed data switching, or state-of-the-art protocol support (X.25, X.28, SNA). To qualify, you must have at least three years assembly language experience with emphasis in communications or real-time systems. Senior Communications Systems Programmers Lead positions for experienced communications programmers in the areas of planning, research, and development of core areas of Tymnet networking technology. Most of these positions involve project leadership and all require a minimum of five years ex- perience in advanced communications protocols (SNA, X.25, or Bisync). Senior Systems Programmers and Project Leaders We need systems programmers with systems or language implementation experience to take responsibility for the design and development of network software tools. These projects include a variety of areas, such as our computer-based messaging systems, transaction processing systems, and our UNIX(r) development environment. Candidates must have experience in the design and implementation of system software and knowledge of Pascal or C. Unix positions require experience with the use of YACC and other Unix language tools.
