[comp.text.desktop] MS Windows and PageMaker

AGNSD@ASUACAD (Nina DeLange) (02/27/88)

I've been using Windows386 on a GoldStar machine with 640K and a 2mg
Intel motherboard, hooked to both an HP Laser Jet500+ and an
Applewriter Plus. PageMaker works just fine--as a matter of fact,
printing is faster.

Performance is greatly improved if PM is installed directly into the
WIN386 subdirectory (or a nested directory within WIN386), rather
than into its own subdirectory.

When you install PageMaker, be sure to run the Windows program
NEWFON.EXE--otherwise, your toolbox, scroll bars, page markers, etc.,
won't appear when you run PM. There is full documentation (albeit
buried) in the WIN386 package.
