[comp.text.desktop] TeXtures on a Mac+

hansen%brand.usc.edu@oberon.usc.edu (Richard Hansen) (03/12/88)

I need some help printing TeXtures output on an Imagewriter. I seem to get
dimensions about 10 percent smaller than specified in my TeX or LaTeX code
whenever I have the Imagewriter chosen. The smaller distances showup both
on the screen and on the printed page--seemingly only in the horizontal. The
verticle dimensions seem to be pretty close to correct. If I have the
Laserwriter printer selected (although I don't have one connected) the
dimensions on the Mac+ screen (when shown at "actual size") appear to be
correct in both the horizontal and verticle. For example, if I have the
following simple TeX code:

\vrule height1.0in width4.0in
\end

and typeset it using "plain" format, I get a solid black box on the screen
and on the Imagewriter printout of 1 inch by 3.6 inches, instead of 1.0 inch by
4.0 inches.

Does anybody know what the problem is? Am I doing something wrong or is it a
fault or limitation of TeXtures or the Imagewriter?

The configuration I have is TeXtures 1.01 and LaTeX 1.0 running on a Mac+ with
the latest system (multifinder or finder makes no difference) and the latest
Imagewriter and Laserwriter drivers.

Any help would be appreciated.
