[comp.text.desktop] looking for desktop publishing help.

news@sun.uucp (news) (04/22/88)

Hello,

I edit & publish a nationally distributed arts magazine,
The Act, a journal of performance art. It is partly funded
by the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council
for the Arts and individuals and foundations. An issue is in
preparation for the fall on The Body. In the past, we have typed
in the codes for compugraphic & merganthaler (linotype) phototypesetters;
very similar to nroff/troff. It is not the most elegant or efficient
process. Perhaps using something like Pagemaker/Ventura, etc., would
make our lives easier for doing layout, but we don't have a laser printer,
only the ega screen.

I'd would like to talk with people who have substantial experience
with the pc/mac 'desktop typography/publishing' technology to find
out what is really involved, and I want to do it over the phone.

I would very much appreciate you help... please call me, email me
your phone number, or post your phone number. (This is your
tax dollars at work!)

Thank you,
Jeffrey Greenberg
