Job Title:
Programmer Analyst Level C with the Department of Computer
Science, UBC.
Job Description:
- responsible for development, documentation and maintenance
of computer programs for administrative and research groups
within the department. The suitability and relative priority
of the projects will be determined by the incumbent and his
manager in consultation with the Department's Computing
Committee.
- assist department members with (software, operating and
equipment) problems encountered when using the university's
computing facilities.
- responsible for the maintenance and daily operation of the
Department's Computer Dollar Management and ID System for
allocating student computing resources.
- working hours are flexible, 35 hours/week
- reports to the Computer Facilities Manager of the Depart-
ment of Computer Science
Qualifications:
B.Sc. in Computer Science with two years related experience,
or equivalent in training and experience. A general
knowledge of the MTS and UNIX operating systems is preferred
together with experience in program design. Knowledge of
basic electricity and electronics and a mechanical aptitude
would be assets.
Salary is negotiable, but is likely about $25K
UBC Computer Science has 2 750s 1 780, 2 SUNs, 2 11/23s, 2 TI990s,
and various museum pieces. The university computing center
operates a 470-V7 and a 470-V8 under the MTS operating system.
