[comp.text.desktop] Looking for publishing/Graphic Arts companies

news@sun.uucp (news) (04/29/88)

Hi -- are there any deskperts out there who know of publishing/
graphic arts software companies within driving distance (~45 min)
of UC-Berkeley? I've only been able to come up with a few on my
own (I believe that I've done a thorough job of looking).

Some background: I'll be moving to the Berkeley area this summer,
and I'm in the "looking for leads" stage of my job hunt (though
offers are also welcome :-) I don't think the average misc.jobs.*
reader will be able to answer my question, which is why I'm
posting here.

Any information at all ("my friend's third cousin heard of a
firm in Orinda...") is much appreciated. All e-mail responses
will be acknowledged (profuse thanks, etc.)

PS -- Can anyone tell me about Personal TeX in Mill Valley?
It showed up in two electronic publishing books, but not in
any of the directories I checked.

Personal TeX, Inc.
12 Madrona Ave.
Mill Valley, CA 94941
(415)388-8853

They develop and market TeX products for the IBM PC family of machines.
You can find their ads in most of the "consumer" microcomputer and DTP
magazines. Or you can call them up and ask for a catalog, which will
give a you good feel for what they do.
