I need to find a desktop publishing package to run under SCO-386Xenix. The only experience I've had with desktop publishing software is under the MS/PC-DOS environment. The primary uses of it would be: In the marketing department: news-releases, direct mail letters and other marketing material In the documentation department: manuals, spec-sheets, indepth research reports among other things I am not familiar with *all* the things to look for except that it must be better than those I have seen readily available under the MS/PC-DOS environment and must provide the following: 1. Can handle very large manuals and other publications 2. Ability to (with or without other utilities) integrate database information (ie. client information) into the publication for such things as direct mail. 3. Have support for various laser printers (suggestions here are also needed and would be appreciated -- currently looking at the apple and xerox) 4. Able to incorporate garphics into the publication It would be nice if it were capable of the following: 1. Ability to switch between publications being worked on 2. Able to reference other publications in part or in whole for use in the publication being worked on 3. Any others that you may think of If everything could *magically* work together and do everything needed and wanted, it would be nice. I can, if I really must, write utilities or whatever to get things working right. If you have any information or insight at all that may help me in this quest, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. - Paul --- Make the world a better place -- distribute software free of charge.
