There are two ways of getting a PostScript file from Mac applications. The first is to hold down the COMMAND and K keys immediately after clicking "OK" in the final printer dialog box. This will create a file called PostScript (or PostScriptn where n=a number if you have a newer finder). This file contains both the PostScript code for the graphic, but also the prep file as a header. If you hold down the COMMAND and F keys instead, you'll get just the graphic.
