[comp.text.desktop] Fonts for HP LaserJet II w Ventura Publisher

dunnett@mala.bc.ca (Malcolm Dunnett) (11/12/88)

We are using Ventura Publisher and printing to an HP LaserJet II
printer. My problem is that the set of fonts provided with Ventura
is a bit too limited for our purposes. I know I could get a PostScript
printer but that seems like overkill.

We are using the Swiss and Dutch typefaces and would like to have
normal, bold and italic in the larger sizes ( 14,18 and 24 pt ), but
only bold seems to be provided. It would also be nice to have these
typefaces in a few different sizes ( eg 9pt, 11pt, 16pt, 30pt ).

Could someone please tell me where I can get the additional sizes
and weights for these typefaces. Thanks in Advance

Bitstream sells font outline prototypes from which (with their installation
kit) you can create fonts of virtually any size, stroke, etc. The installation
kit takes care of creating the necessary printer font, screen font, .VFM files,
and width tables. Their fonts are very clean and will closely match the set
already in use by Ventura.
