I am currently using the Ashton Tate package Byline to produce a magazine. It is a low end, relatively cheap (even with the battered Canadian dollar) DTP package that, despite its graphics handling deficiencies, suitably meets my needs. My one complaint, however, is the way Ashton Tate has set up the kearning tables. The package does allow for editing of the tables but that is only of use if you know the kearning standards for a particular letter comnbination. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem? Specifically, what are the standards used by the package? As it stands now, my headlines sometimes come out with uneven spacing in the words. Any help would be appreciated. ==================== Mike MacKinnon Programmer Analyst, Department of Computing Services University of New Brunswick ---------------------------------------- Submissions to: desktop@plaid.sun.com Administrivia to: desktop-request@plaid.sun.com UUCP: {amdahl,decwrl,hplabs}!sun!plaid!desktop{-request} Archives can be gotten from the archive-server.
