Please could anybody help me with the following, I am trying to install Pagemaker 3.0 on windows 2.03. The machine used is a toshiba 3200 and the mouse is a genius mouse. The machine has 640 Kb and 384 expanded memory. After installing PM, I cannot get it to work. When i try to load it from the command line, it says something like, error, exit code 0001. When I try to load it from windows (which works ok!), it tells me PM is too large??? It should work in 640Kb and if not, I have got the expanded memory... I checked but cannot find anything in the PM manual... Please help me out if you can... Thanks Dries Bessels, Amsterdam, Holland

I have had the same problem with other applications running under windows. Be careful of other applications that have been run prior to running windows. Some applications do things to memory and then leave junk as you exit that effect future program memory useage. (QDOS for example). FOR SURE, avoid loading TSRs before trying to run windows. Windows has its own memory manager so don't load a memory manager before loading windows, they will fight with each other. (QEMM for example). |>It should work in 640Kb and if not, I have got the expanded memory... Exapanded memory means nothing to you unless you have software that is configured to use it. Did you set windows up for the extra memory? What does windows tell you when you do the 'about'. You can reach Aldus by computer on Compu$erve.
