Biology and Medicine Division
Duties: Act as database administrator for the Carcinogenic
Potency Project which is establishing a database of animal cancer
tests and calculating potency, for use in human risk assessment.
Write, debug, and document applications programs and scripts.
Develop and maintain programs which display and graph results of
statistical programs. Design and implement database schemas which
reflect research needs. Maintain database and formulate queries
for database analysis. Provide assistance and guidance to clerks in
text-processing problems. Maintain existing programs.
Requirements: Working knowledge of UNIX operating system required.
Knowledge of C programming language preferred. Familiarity wth INGRES
database management system, CDC 7600 system, and some FORTRAN
desirable. Knowledge of statistics or biochemical and toxicology
terminology desirable. Prefer a degree in Computer Science,
Mathematics, or Physical Science.
