QuarkXPress users association formed Quark Users International, QUI, has been formed to advance the application of the QuarkXPress page and color publishing program. Over 100 users attended an organizational meeting held during the Boston Seybold Conference to develop plans and services. The event was co-sponsored by Quark, Inc. and addressed by Tim Gill, QuarkXPress founder and developer, who outlined the firm's newly announced Version 3.1 of QuarkXPress. The first annual conference has been scheduled for July 11-12, 1991 at the Javits Convention center in New York City. Panels of users, imaging centers and QuarkXTensions developers will help art, design and pre-press professionals apply their programs more creatively and effectively. QUI is a grass roots, not-for-profit association run by volunteers. Interested parties may contact QUI at P.O. Box 170, Salem, NH 03079.
