[net.jobs] Software & Human Factors in California?

chris@grkermit.UUCP (Chris Hibbert) (05/23/84)

I have just completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at MIT, and am
looking for a Software Engineering position on the West Coast, preferably
northern California. I am particularly interested in doing design and
development (or investigation) of integrated, easy-to-use software systems.
It is important to me that I work for a company that emphasizes human
factors and the user-computer interface in the design of products.

I completed all the course work (everything but a Thesis) required for
the degree in 1980, and have been working as a Software Engineer at
GenRad in Concord (using UNIX and C) since then. My thesis, called
"Integrated Computing Environments: The Control of Complexity in
Powerful Systems," is an analysis of what factors make Integrated
Environments successful. The systems I studied include Smalltalk-80
and Star from Xerox, Apple's Lisa, BB&N's Interlisp, the MIT
LispMachines, and a system called Boxer that is being developed by the
group at MIT that produced LOGO. The Thesis has been signed and turned
in--I will graduate in June.

I can be reached during the day at (617)369-4400 x2688, or at home at
(617)646-3059.

My US Snail address is:
