I was twiddling with sysdefs.h the other day and couldn't figure out for the life of me why on the new version my aliases didn't get expanded when first sending the message off like the old one did. Today I found that the old version had MAX_SALIASES defined as a blindingly fast system (in the Configure.sh) and this version the number was lower. I also figured out a way to kludge elm-filter to work with our sendmail. We had a problem where if more than one person would receive a mail message, and more than one person on this list had a .forward file containing: |/usr/local/bin/filter that sendmail would say, oh - let;s just deliver to one of those filters. The kludge is to insist the users add their login to the command to make it unique, ie: |/usr/local/bin/filter dave Got this idea from the man page on vacation(1) [bsd4.3] Dave Rasmussen c/o Computing Services Division @ U of WI - Milwaukee Internet: dave@csd4.milw.wisc.edu Uucp: uwvax!uwmcsd1!uwmcsd4!dave {o,o} Csnet: dave%uwmcsd4@uwm Bellnet: +1 (414) 229-5133 \u/ ICBM: 43 4 58 N/ 87 55 52 W Usnail: 3200 N Cramer #E380, Milw WI 53211
