Len,

If you will break it in pieces and uucp it to
rutgers!bellcore!tness7!root, then I will see
to it that Bill Wisner gets it to put on killer.
(killer is a major uucp archive site).

I have already sent it to Charley at killer.
We have a direct uucp link..

Here we go again:

How to obtain elm 2.0 gamma, especially in Europe?

If there is a "bugs & remarks" coordinator, can't he post it?

No big idea, unless you've got UNIX sources. Elm 2.0 requires the crypt()
function, which is *not* distributed outside of the U.S.

Requires it?? Is this a deeply ingrained dependency or can I just
#ifdef out the encrypted messages junk?

I would have thought the configuration stuff could detect the absence
of crypt() and built Elm accordingly.

Only the DES versions of crypt are (perhaps) embargoed.
All machines have some encryption (for /etc/passwd at least).
If not, the PD crypt's are available in comp.sources.

I don't think we need to make it so that encrypted mail is uncrackable,
just unreadable.

Or as you suggest, just ifdef it.
