As long as the new "coordinator" asked... (He *did* ask, didn't he?) Major annoyance # 1 with Elm. Everytime *anything* changes on the menu page you are looking at (or even if something changed on a page you are *not* looking at, like if new mail arrives and you are not looking at the last page), Elm repaints the entire screen. This is painful at low baud rates. Perhaps appropriate use of Curses and/or Termcaps would solve this? (FYI: I run on a BSD system.) Minor annoyance. When using our local newsreader to send mail back to an author, I like to have the newsreader call the mailer directly. However, I see no way to persuade /bin/mail, sendmail, or Elm to do BOTH of the following: (a) Use the headers in the composed reply file, (b) use my own specific headers from my .mailcf file (or .elmheaders file, or whatever), AND (3) save a copy of my outgoing message *automatically* in the same file Elm normally stashes a copy for me [I do NOT want to have to put a "Cc: header" in every reply; that's what computers are for]. Perhaps Elm can be "enhanced" to take a *COMPLETE* outgoing message, *with* headers, and just pass it along to sendmail? Of course, if anyone can point me at the obvious solutions to these problems, solutions that I have not managed to stumble across yet... Hey! I'm not proud. I'll take what I can get. :-) -- John G Dobnick Computing Services Division @ University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee UUCP: <backbone>!uwvax!uwmcsd1!jgd INTERNET: jgd@csd4.milw.wisc.edu -- John G Dobnick Computing Services Division @ University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee UUCP: <backbone>!uwvax!uwmcsd1!jgd INTERNET: jgd@csd4.milw.wisc.edu "Knowing how things work is the basis for appreciation, and is thus a source of civilized delight." -- William Safire
