This may already be in it (we only have 1.5), but: one problem I have with elm is that once you're in the editor you can't easily change any of the header information (basically, you have to save the message, quit, and restart). Also, there's a limit to what you can change from the beginning (like, you can't explicitly route stuff when you know the default forwarder is down). I'd like Elm to do something like what vnews or rn does: write the headers into the file you edit. That way you can edit them as you like and let elm parse and use them when you quit.
