                               QUINTUS

Quintus Computer Systems, a new company in Palo Alto, is actively
developing high-performance Prolog systems and applications. Quintus
was organized in 1983 and has received a large infusion of venture
capital that will permit expansion of its technical development
effort.

The Quintus technical team includes David Warren, Lawrence Byrd and
William Kornfeld. Their previous work includes the original Edinburgh
DEC-10/20 Prolog compiler and substantial research contributions to
the logic programming field. The chairman of Quintus is Cuthbert
Hurd, whose distinguished scientific and business career includes
responsibility for the introduction of IBM's first general-purpose
computer.

Quintus Prolog is designed for efficiency, portability, and
ease-of-use. Quintus Prolog will run initially on the VAX and
MC68000-based systems with other processors to follow. Quintus
Prolog is designed for serious software development.

Quintus is looking for outstanding individuals with experience in
Prolog implementation and applications, database technology and
interactive environments. Quintus is also looking for software
engineers with C and Unix experience. We offer an exciting working
environment in a growing company, and look forward to hearing from you.
