[comp.mail.elm] Can't mail to person@site in Elm 1.7

Help - I've just built Elm 1.7 and am trying to get it to accept Internet
style addresses (person@site) but with little success.  Even mail sent
locally seems to fail, since it shows me (the sender) as itkin@mrspoc, and
my local users can't respond to me.  What am I missing (since I know that it's
me and not Elm)?????   HELP ME PLEASE!!!  Email me an answer and be prepared
to receive my undying gratitude by return mail.
