I had mail bounce from 'dsinc!syd' due to the inability of the mailer daemon to write to Syd's mailbox. I've just installed ELM 2.1 on my system ... and low and behold my own mailbox got munged. Specifically, /usr/mail/clarke should be mode 660 with a group of 'mail' on my system. All of a sudden, the group was changed to 'system' and my incoming mail got bounced. Is there a bug in ELM 2.1? The main ELM module is mode 2755 with a group of 'mail'. Has this happened to anyone else or is it just coincidence (ha!)? Ed Clarke uunet!bywater!acheron!clarke
