It's time for a status update:
First, re those of you grabbing elm2.1 before it gets out of Rich's
queue, please also grab my patch in my archive-server. This patch
fixes some things that got missed before rich's copy. I intent to
post this patch when I see Rich's postings.

I do not know how long Rich's queue is, but I expect to see it soon,
it's been about two weeks now.
Second: HP-Japan.
They are being very friendly, and yes, Dave, I understand and take
your comments to heart. Current proposals are to let 2.2 (which is
in development) go out as is, and to start a merge about 2.3 or 2.4.
I will not say it is 3.0, as I am unsure what would really make it
3.0.
Before you ask, I have no target date for 2.2, let alone 2.3 or 2.4.
Best to say, we are working on things, especially rewriting and
straightning out the Configuration system.
We have added HP-Japan to our development group, so they have access
to our source and our patches. They have offered their code as soon
as it is available. All will progress well and I am sure Elm will
be better for it.
