I'm running elm 2.1 PL1 on UTS version 1.2.2. My problem is that once a message is marked for deletion I cannot access it to undelete it. If you mark a message for deletion, you can scroll past it in either direction but it bypasses the message marked for deletion. This problem did not exist in elm 1.1 I did configure with the default shell as ksh, and do consider myself a rookie with elm. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Is it a configuration probelm? Paul MacMurdo ...!bellcore!whuxcc!pim pim@mrevox.bellcore.com 201-829-2056

The 'j' and 'k' commands skip deleted messages, but the 'J' and 'K'
commands do not.

I think it's a feature :-) and not a bug. But you *can* access that mail: just type the number of the message and you can do a 'u' command. If you don't frequently need to undelete messages, maybe the behaviour of skipping read messages starts to look like a feature :-) -- -- ###### Jos Vos ###### Internet jos@idca.tds.philips.nl ###### -- ###### ###### UUCP ...!mcvax!philapd!jos ######

Elm skips messages, that are skiped for deletion, if you use the 'usual' cursor keys 'jk' or the extra cursor keys. If you want to move to deleted messages, you can use 'JK' (capital letters) instead. These two keys work like in older versions. I, for myself, added a new option in Elm to choose, if you want to skip deleted messages or not. -- Gerald Vogt ISA GmbH - Informationssysteme fuer computerintegrierte Automatisierung UUCP: ...{uunet!unido, pyramid!iaoobel}!isaak!vogt or vogt@isaak.UUCP EARN: isaak.uucp!vogt@unido.bitnet

I think. Try entering the number of the message and hitting return. It should make the deleted message the current message, after which you can read it, undelete it, etc. Dave Mack

So how does one get to them: two ways: 1. direct addressing by message number 2. Use J and K instead of j and k. The upper case ones do not skip over deleted messages. (Warning, my memory is weak, this might be new to 2.2 and not in 2.1, however #1 always works) -- ===================================================================== Sydney S. You can also jump directly to a message, whether deleted or not, by
typing the message number and pressing return.
