The savename function appears to be different between 1.5 and 2.2. In 1.5, if the recipient's name did not exist as a folder, the outgoing mail was saved in the default log file. Now the folder is created. Am I missing something in the documentation? I don't want to start another feature change flamefest. I just don't want to hack elm (I want the real patches ONLY), but I want mail to uncommon people to go to the default mlog (yes, I know about 'c' at the end of the message - I just like the old way. Call me conservative. Call me a lazy typist. I don't care). If there is a way to get elm 2.2 to act like 1.5 in this respect, I would like to hear about it. -- Brian Lloyd Bishop bbishop@tamcad.intel.com

(Here I *am* speaking as a member of the development team. :-) )
Yes, it is different, and the info was posted here two days ago and is
also in the Reference Guide. The long and the short of it is we
thought we were increasing functionality by allowing the folder to be
created. (There are benefits to the need functionality that I'm not
going into here.) After a complaint about the niceness of the old
functionality, we are currently working on a way to have the best of
both worlds. Stay tuned.
