[comp.mail.elm] Elm 2.2 Bug - ask=OFF

mack@inco.UUCP (Dave Mack) (04/29/89)

Elm 2.2, PL1 - SunOS3.4

Despite having ask=OFF and alwaysstore=NO in elmrc, it still asks me
if I want to store received mail. I've read the FM and can't find
a way to prevent this.

That @@#$@#$@$@$ manual. :-)

Okay. The elmrc option ask does not come into play when you exit ELM.
If you use the 'q' command, you will be asked the disposition questions.
If you use the 'Q' command, you will not be asked the disposition questions.

A more detailed explanation of this *can* be found in the Reference Guide,
Section 6 (commands) under 'q' and 'Q'. Additionally, Section 2 (elmrc)
under "ask" explains for which commands it comes into play.

The Reference Guide has thorough information about the elmrc options and
elm(1) commands.
