I'm a mail administrator novice that happens to love elm and maintains copies on our sun network and BSD4.3 vax's. We would like to add elm to our AT&T 3B15 machine running System V version 2 and using the MMDF mailing system. Has anyone a port to a similar environment? I'd like to try to prevent re-inventing the wheel if I could. (I'm using elm 2.01 on the sun and the BSD4.3 vax's). Derek H. According to dhm2j@uvaee.ee.virginia.EDU (Derek Miller): [He wants to use Elm with MMDF.] As I recall, MMDF's default local delivery channel uses a mailbox format different from standard Unix utilities. Something about four ^A characters to divide mailboxes. The "deliver" program may prove helpful. It can be used with the MMDF program channel to deliver local mail in a form acceptable to Elm. (In theory, that is; I've never tried it.) Deliver is available at finer archive sites everywhere. It's at patchlevel eight. If, on the other hand, you want Elm to use MMDF mailboxes -- well, that's a job yet undone. Up to a challenge? :-) -- Chip Salzenberg <chip@ateng.com> or <uunet!ateng!chip> A T Engineering Me?
