Both myself and another user have noticed a bug in elm 2.2. When you are in the elm main menu, and enter alias mode, and 'm'ake a new alias, that alias is added to the alias text file, but is not properly added to the alias database so that you can use it from that elm session. It is necessary to exit elm and run newalias before the new alias is useful. Thank you, -David- -- Bitnet: david@wubios.wustl ^ Mr. David J. How 'bout trying to interactively DELETE an address that has two or more aliases pointing to it? If I have the following alias in my alias database: kinky, funtime = Nice blonde = goodtime@times-square.nyc.ny.usa Running Elm (2.2PL8) and interactively deleting the alias 'funtime' or 'kinky' will have Elm go through all the motions of "updating" the alias file and re-read it but truely NOT deleting either alias. What should really happen here? Not allow double aliases? Remove the alias from the line but leave the other and the address? Remove both aliases and thus the entire line? Warn the user of the double alias and, if OK'ed, delete both? Warn the user of the double alias and, if OK'ed, delete the one? I opt for the last one. -Rusty- -- Rusty Haddock {uunet!likewise, att, arpa}!hocpa!rusty AT&T Consumer Products Laboratories - Human Factors Laboratory Holmdel, New Joyzey 07733 (201) 834-1023 rusty@hocpa.att.com ** New Joyzey: Attitude Capital of the World
